Why The Wirral Online Is Different

Our directory is simple, in every sense of the word.

How People Search For You

The fact of the matter is most people will use Google when searching for local businesses.

But the problem with Google is that the search results will bring up some websites, which aren't useful to the customer.

Say for example, you want a storage container from the Wirral, so you type in 'wirral containers' into Google.

Once you click on that search button, you will be presented with container companies from Liverpool, the Wirral and surrounding areas. But you will also be presented with sponsored results, news articles and directory listings - it's not the ideal solution for someone just looking for a local container company.

And a problem a lot of companies have with Google is that the listings are based on how much you spend on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) that can run up into the thousands. And don't forget, only a limited number of companies can appear on the first page of results - and if your business has a website I'm sure you have a lot of competing websites listed that aren't even on the Wirral.

So with The Wirral Online, we make this as simple as possible. We will only list local companies and have links to their websites. There is no SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to manipulate, and all listings are Wirral-based companies - so no unnecessary competition from businesses that's aren't even local.

 

Business of the Month Feature

From July 2010, we will have a Business of the Month feature where we will randomly pick a Wirral business (from our featured listings) and feature them prominently on the front page of our website. We will also write an article and include an interview on the chosen business and they will have a dedicated page with all this information for the whole month.

After the month has transpired, they will be added to our Business of the Month archive that will always be viewable from our site.

If you are a featured business then you will automatically be entered into our Business of the Month feature draw every month.


 

Listings & Prices

We currently offer 3 types of listings; Featured Links, Regular Links and Regular Links with Reciprocal Link.

Whichever option you choose, all listings include a link to your website and company information (in the way of a user-submitted description).

Special Offer!

Please note that until Friday 30th April 2010, all featured and regular links are half price at only £3 and £1 respectively!

Featured Links

Featured Links are currently priced at £6 per year and have a greater prominence on our directory. They are listed at the top of your chosen category page and are highlighted with a light blue listing.

All businesses that sign up for our featured listings will also be automatically entered into our Business of the Month feature where we showcase a Wirral business every month (see below for more information).

Regular Links

Regular listings are only £2 and include entry into our directory for a year. You get to add a direct link to your website and submit your own description.

Regular Links with Reciprocal Link

If you add a link to The Wirral Online on your business homepage then you can have a regular listing for absolutely free!

Please note that for this option you will have to include our link on your website before submitting your URL to our directory. Our system automatically detects whether you have added our reciprocal link so attempting to signup without the reciprocal link will not work.

Upgrade

You can upgrade your package at any time. If you are interested in doing this then please get in touch.

 

Payment Information & Help

Payments are made securely online using PayPal's intergrated payment system. You do not need a PayPal account to purchase a listing and can simply use any Debit or Credit Card.

Once you have successfully submitted the details for your business listing, you will need to click on the Buy Now button to be taken to the PayPal payment page. Once you reach the PayPal payment page if you don't have a PayPal account simply click on the link at the bottom of the page that says:

'Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available).'

Then you will be able to pay with any Debit or Credit Card.

If you do have a PayPal account you wish to use however, then just login as usual and complete the transaction.

 

Terms & Conditions

Please note that submissions (website or description) will be rejected if your website is:

(a) Made for Google Adsense (MFA) content only.
(b) Incomplete, under construction or redirects visitors to an unrelated destination.
(c) Containts excessive keyword stuffing.
(d) Submitted to the incorrect correct category.

Websites rejected because of these reasons will not be refunded.
